Dorothy Dash

Every year our community puts on a 5K called the Dorothy Dash to raise money for MS.  I ran it last year and the kids asked after I ran it if they could run it the following year.  So this year we signed up as a family!

It was a chilly morning but perfect for a run.
At the beginning - the boys were going to get to do the course too but by stroller.

 This trio ready to go!
A few of our friends running the race with us.
 And we're off!

We had a good slow and steady pace the first mile and we all made it there together.
Mile 2, Todd stayed back with Olivia while we ran ahead.
Abby and Kaitlyn slowed down more on the last mile and we waited a bit for Todd and Olivia to catch up.  Alec decided to run the last mile too.  Todd found that Olivia did well with a run 30 seconds, then walk 30 seconds pace.
 We made it!
We finished the race together!  It was fun to run all together and they kids were already asking when we could run another one.

November Misc.

Alec's class had the chapel lesson and they were really cute with their parts.  The kids said what they could do to follow Jesus.  Alec's sign said "Pray" but he wouldn't say anything into the mic.

Devin loves to play air hockey and will bang the pucks on the table until someone comes and plays with him.
At our ward pot luck picnic - Alec and Lorenzo were two cute superheroes that played so well together.

Alec has speech twice a week at the elementary school.  While he's in his lessons - the lessons that he won't talk at! - Devin and I sit outside and wait.  Devin loves the principal at the school and this morning they did a little dance together.

Abby's record on the pogo stick is 400!

Devin loves to be outside all day long!  He especially loves this little digger!

Can you spot all 5 kids playing together on the swing set?
Goofing around- Devin found the box that held some crafts, including the googly eyes.  We decided to have a little fun with them.

Alec's preschool Thanksgiving feast.  There was a short program where the kids sang, Alec smiled and looked cute but didn't sing.

Leaves are Falling All Around

Another Fall of bagging our leaves.  This Fall we started early and would do about 10 bags a week.  The kids were super helpful and we could get 10 bags done in about 30 minutes if everyone worked together.  We ended up doing about 80 bags over the course of a couple months but we did it!

Where's Alec?
 Look at these kids go!
 Devin loves the broom!

Best part is jumping into the piles!

Olivia and Alec having a little fun with the trash bags.

Softball Love

Kaitlyn gave up soccer in the summer and finally got her wish of starting softball.  She had been asked for a year or so to play.  The way the teams were arranged and split, Kaitlyn was one of 3 girls that were 9 on a team of a bunch of 6-7 year olds.  It ended up being a really good learning experience and first season for her.

I'll admit I got really giddy seeing her in a softball uniform.  This was my sport and I loved how cute Kaitlyn looked.

Any spare afternoon she'd ask to play catch in the backyard.  She'd get back from practice and want to continue catching.  Kaitlyn loves playing softball!

Playing catcher - her favorite position - Be a wall!

Devin found some other kids stuffed dog and ended up laying on it for half the game.

End of the season trophy!  Go Stingrays!

Abby- Volleyball and Soccer

This was another crazy season for Abby doing double sports.  With soccer, she'd stay in the game the whole time playing defender and was good at it.  However, she loves to play volleyball and would choose to play that if there were ever any game conflicts.  She had a lot of fun playing both but had some busy weeks with all the practices and games.

Abby had this rock that she would do before every serve - it would be 5 rocks back and forth before she would serve.  Her underhand serve is great but now we are moving on to overhand!
