Dads

So this is a late Father's Day post but I wanted to say how grateful I'm am to have such a loving husband who is also a great father. The couple months I was in the hospital Todd took the brunt of everything, doing my job along with his. He did a fantastic job! He was so tired from it all and I hated not being able to help. But we all survived and hopefully learned to appreciate each other a little more.

I love it when he comes home the girls scream out "Dad!" and Olivia drops everything and runs to him. She loves Dad more than anything. During prayers, she'll cling to his legs, she wants to go to work with him, and will give him kisses just because.

Some of the favorite things that the girls love is getting tossed by Dad:

And feeling safe in his arms.

1 month

BORN AWESOME

STATS:
about 6 lbs 4 oz
loves to be swaddled
loves to be held
fussy time is at 3 AM!
has a good three hour feeding schedule
becoming more alert and will stare at whoever is holding him
finally has grown out of his preemie clothes

We can't get enough of our little guy. The girls love holding him and are SO helpful. Alec is a special and we are so lucky to have him in our family.

Not the best picture but it does show a great size difference - 1 month to a 2 1/2 year old. She was little once too. How fast they grow up. In a blink of an eye.

Random hospital pictures (rewind)

As I was looking through some pictures, some of these from the hospital stuck out.

Kaitlyn drew me a picture of herself that hung on my wall for 6 weeks. Olivia did too and every time Olivia visited, she'd go over to her picture and say "my picture!".
This is usually what the girls did when visiting, played on the iPad and my phone. The 3rd girl would be sitting with mom visiting and we'd rotate.
My "suite"
Abby came to visit with Gma and I was able to take a wheelchair ride. Abby took her duty of pushing me very seriously. She did a great job backing me into the elevator, getting me through doors and making sure I didn't run into anything.
Kaitlyn and doggie feeling Alec move around.
Olivia with my leg squeezers on her arms.
My sisters and sister-in-law sent me up a huge box full of preemie and newborn essentials for my shower in a box. My mom also supplied the balloons because it was a "shower".

Piano Recital

Abby has been playing for a little more than a year. We just had her end of the year piano recital at a retirement home. Abby had her songs memorized but was really nervous playing in front of all the people that were there. We are proud of her and how well she is developing her talents.

Preschool Graduate

Little Miss Kaitlyn finished up her pre-school experience last week. Todd and I went to her end of the year "Texas Tea" where the kids performed fun cowboy and Texas songs. Kaitlyn has grown and learned so much this year, she is ready for Kindergarten! She has come out of her shell and is more assertive. She can't wait to go to the "big school" next year.

Kaitlyn and Miss B.

After such a great performance, a date with mom to get ice-cream.
Silly face!
