Go Number 4!

Go Princesses!

We finished up Abby's first soccer session and what a first session it was. It started out with a broken arm that happened during the second practice and ended with her being able to play in the last four games with her team. She didn't do too bad seeing how she was behind the others with missed games and practices. It did get frustrating as she'd watch the ball go by or didn't run as fast as we know she could. The last game I could see that things were starting to click a little better with her. Abby didn't really ever want to get in the scuffle of things to get the ball. She was afraid of getting "squished" by all the girls. Hopefully in the fall we would have any mishaps and she'll be able to play all session. She did look cute in her uniform and most importantly, she had fun!

Easter

**I wrote this at Easter but I'm finally getting around to posting pictures. The pictures aren't the best quality. I want to do some retakes soon before Olivia grows out of her dress.

Happy Easter Everyone! We enjoyed our traditional Easter egg roll-off, new spring pjs, and of course hunting for eggs.

Olivia and I have been sick with colds and were up late the night before. I woke up with a migraine and Todd took over. He feed the girls, took pictures and videos, and made sure everyone was ready in time for church so I could rest a little longer. I didn't even watch the girls find their Easter eggs I was feeling so yucky. The day ended up wonderful and we were glad we were able to celebrate Easter together.

This Just Makes Me Smile....

...and think of my mom, she's German- that explains a lot. Every time I hear the Sound of Music, she pops into my head.

My friend had this on her blog and thought I'd share just because it's fun and, I would love to join in if I could.

The Things They Say

Said by our daughters over the past two days:

At dinner-
Dad: "Kaitlyn will you say the prayer."
Kaitlyn: "Name of Jesus Christ, Amen."
D: "You need to start with Dear Heavenly Father,"
K: "NOOOOOO! AMEN!"

Abby talking to Mom-
A: "Mom, I want a baby brother. Can you have a boy?"
M: "Heavenly Father sends us who he wants. Maybe next time we will have a boy. Maybe you can pray for a baby brother."
A: "I'm going to pray for a baby brother and a cupcake maker!"

Dollar Dash

A few of my friends do what they call the "dinner dash". After dinner, their families set a timer for 10 minutes. In that time they need to clean up all the dinner dishes, put food away, sweep the floor, etc. If they get everything done in 10 minutes they get to put a dollar in a jar and are saving for whatever is their goal.

I've taken this idea and instead of doing the "dinner dash", we do a "dollar dash". I find that at night, when our house is a complete disaster, I have no more patience and get mad at the girls for not picking up. And lets be honest, there's yelling and there's crying (the girls and occasionally when hormones get the best of me, I cry too). There's lots of whining and complaining and toys are left out. It gets VERY frustrating night after night. I've hated how we end up saying good-night - mom is mad and the girls unhappy. UGH.

Now comes the dollar dash, before pjs and story time I set the timer for 10-15 minutes (depending on how messy the house is) and we get to cleaning up. There is no yelling, the girls are running back and forth between rooms putting things away. We've ended the day on a good note- there is happiness and peace! We've done it 3 days now and it's been working well. So far we have $3 towards going to see Monsters vs Aliens!
