Oklahoma or Bust!

Oklahoma for Spring Break you say?? We just spent three days with eight other families in Broken Bow, OK. There were a total of 37 people and 1 dog. We rented 3 cabins close to each other and had a wonderful time! It was so beautiful there!

We arrived late Wednesday night. And Abby was wired, she made it her job to jump on every bed! By the time we got the car unpack and the air mattress set up, it was close to 11:30 before she went to bed. The room was small and we were sharing the cabin with one other family so that meant that the kids were to sleep in the room with us. Not a lot of space with a queen bed, full size air mattress and a pack-n-play but we made it work. We had to put half of the air mattress under the bed and while doing so we punctured the mattress so by 5:00 AM Abby was sleeping on the floor. She didn't like that much and ended up in our bed cuddling with mom.

Thursday we took Abby on a canoe trip with 4 other families from our group. The water was freezing and we were hoping that no one would trip their canoe. Abby liked keeping her arm in the water and splashing mom. We were so tired that afternoon that we all took naps and we had a hard time getting Abby up for dinner. After dinner all the kids jumped in the hot tub and splashed around. Abby was clinging to the edge since she couldn't see the bottom with the jets going. The Lohners brought a boat so we took a little drive out on the lake afterwards. Our friend Brooks drove so fast, we were so wind blown! Kaitlyn laughed the whole time- she was having so much fun watching our scrunched up faces.

Late that night the men went sling shot paint balling in the woods. They battled some and then dueled towards the end. Count off 5 steps, turn, and shoot. Todd was the last man standing! During one of the battles though, Todd got out by getting shot right between the eyes! Good thing he had protective goggles on.

Friday we went on a little train ride, saw some deer, took a nice hike, and just plain relaxed. We were able to take one more trip out on the boat before we left- this time we went with the Lohners and Hardings and even stopped to do a little fishing. Abby said that that was her favorite part of the trip.

Sat. came too fast but it was time to pack up and head home. We had a wonderful time and it was absolutely beautiful and not too far from home. Who knew!
