End of the school year

June 1 and 2, 2016

Last couple days of school! 

Abby had a great year in 6th grade - straight A's in all her classes

 Olivia excelled in 1st grade, had the kindest teacher and also made straight A's.

 Kaitlyn gained more confidence in 4th grade - had great friends and was a great friend.  She too made straight A's through the year.

 Abby spent the day with friends at Altitude which was a great thing because it rained buckets that afternoon.  Kaitlyn had a few friends over to kick off summer and they were going to swim, however it was raining so hard we were stuck inside.

Kaitlyn aged out of her last team and put on the Jaguars team in the spring.  She had a great coach who was coaching for his neighbor.  He was very patient with the girls and teaching them the game.  They had a lot of fun and the coach called Kaitlyn "Captain" all season.  He had her lead the team out to the field and lead them in cheers.  It was a great season for her where we saw her confidence grow in herself and in the sport.

The coach took the team to a High School game and they had so much fun watching the older girls play.  They loved getting on the field with them at the end too.

May Happenings 2016

Mom had her monthly lunch date with old friends.

Kaitlyn completed all these puzzles on her own.  She does not like help.

Activity Day Girls had a Mother-Daughter activity.  Abby made this beautiful hat out of wrapping paper.  We had a good time together.

 It was book character dress up day and we remembered late the night before.  Abby was very helpful in quickly creating this costume for Olivia.

 Kaitlyn's grade did a Harry Potter themed week - she was just sorted into Ravenclaw.

 Alec loves being able to ride his bike without training wheels - he likes to see how far he can go "off-road".

Earth, Wind, and Fire

May 2016

We had a fun work event and were able to listen to Earth, Wind and Fire.  They are still rocking it many years later.

Piano Recital

Olivia was really nervous about her piano recital.  She was terrified to get up in front of everyone and possibly mess up.  She did a fantastic job!

Tree Trimming

We had a ton of trees in our yard and we finally decided it was time to remove a lot of them.  When we had some bad wind storms we would loose branches on trees, some close to the house.  It was time to cut down 3 of our bigger trees too.  It was painful to have to cut down these huge trees but it needed to be done, they were rotten in the middle. We were worried they would fall on the house, a car, or even one of the kids.  Devin enjoyed the day watching the men climb the trees and chop the branches.  He also loved the machine that mulched it all.  It was an exciting day for a little boy.

Family Campout

May 27, 2016

We had planned on taking the kids camping but we had tons of rain the night before.  The campsite was over an hour away and Todd got home late from work that night.  We called an audible and decided to just camp in our backyard.  

It was a perfect evening and the kids had a blast.  Abby made a scavenger hunt to do and the kids stayed up way too late telling stories.  Kaitlyn stayed in the tent until she decided she wanted to go to bed and she went inside and slept in her own bed.
